Revving Up the Weekend Fun at Brands Hatch!

Last weekend, 22nd – 23rd July 2023 North Kent Distribution had the pleasure of hosting an unforgettable day of adrenaline-packed excitement and hospitality at the British Superbikes event at Brands Hatch!

Our valued customers and esteemed suppliers joined us for a day filled with heart-pounding racing action, where we witnessed the finest riders battling it out on the track.

But that’s not all! To fuel the energy and camaraderie, we treated our guests to a sumptuous spread of breakfast and lunch, ensuring they were well-nourished throughout the day.

We believe in nurturing strong relationships with our clients and partners, and what better way to do it than over the roar of high-speed bikes and delicious meals in the company of fellow racing enthusiasts!

January 2023 New Vigo WMS Install

With our new building filling rapidly our new Warehouse Management System was installed last week 16^th January 2023. Giving our storage customers the benefit of an online Platform with real time stock visibility all barcoded with Barcode locations. Feedback from our team has been nothing but positive with the ease of stock locating, moving and picking, all done from the handheld scanners. Moving to the next level in our stock control. A big thankyou to Kevin from Vigo and our Warehouse Manager Tony and his team for hitting the ground running, nobody likes change, except these Guys thankyou Guys.

North Kent Distribution awarded “Members Depot of the Year” December 2022.

What a Year! Many changes within the business despite the difficult time within the Economy. The Business has grown further still with our new site, all our staff have worked relentlessly to make this happen, I’m so proud of each and everyone on them and this award was a big pat on the back for the recognition we have received from the Pallet Track Membership, thankyou to all the Guys that voted for us.

End of an Era November 2022

Throughout the 10 years at our Gravesend Site which we outgrew 3 years ago it was time to move out all together. Having served us well with an accommodating land lord and neighbours putting up with our growth pains it was sad to leave this building and yard. Giving us many happy memories and enabling us to establish ourselves in the market place with our haulage and pallet distribution services. Despite being on the furthest Eastern part of our delivery postcodes we still won many awards for our services to our Pallet Network, Happy times but with a team that has strong focus on providing the best service it was inevitable we were going to outgrow our home, good times come to an end, now for the next Chapter.

Another Building to our Portfolio September 2022

Despite a move to bigger premises in January this year we have outgrown both our sites with the Storage offering, another search resulted in a great location just outside the London DVS Standard and Low Emmsion zone this New 40,000 sq Ft Building and yard has much to offer, an empty shell now having 6,000 Racked Pallet spaces, a Dock Loading Facility with large holding area a great team of Guys able to pick full pallets of bespoke orders. Plans are in place to extend our range of services to offer Import and Export Clearance services as well as a Customs Bond Facility. Watch this space for further developments.

Receiving Our 10 Years Service Truck

Attending one of our Pallet Track members meetings Gary Knight was presented by Caroline Green our 10 years of Service Truck to Pallet Track. Gary Knight stated, “having been in other Networks previously, Pallet Track has given me the right Platform to deliver the service my customers they deserve and require. Our Customers have full visibility of their freight through the network all traced from their portal, backed by our dedicated customer service team we have every aspect covered”. Caroline Green added “ Gary and the team at NKD have provided a First Class service to the Network, stepping in with help where required, NKD are what Pallet Track are about, a valued member for sure, here’s to the next 10 years!

A move to our New Head Office January 2022

After 18 months of looking for the right site to suit our needs with our trucks and trailer giving us capacity to grow our Storage business we have found our Ideal Site in Crayford DA1. A 30,000 sqft building with a great customer reception, driver facilities and customer Service Office we were proud to receive the Keys on 10^th January 2022. Reducing our Carbon Foot Print on the Environment by 130t per year on our fuel being more efficient in our vehicle routing everyone has adapted very well.

Selected by 95 other member depots for our outstanding commitment to the Network for deliveries and collections with our Postcode areas, with our Electronic Signature Captures, our customer service and general Can Do Attitude. A great testament to all our staff for the commitment shown this is for all of us to celebrate and build on, well done Team NKD!
